Tarragona: World Heritage 8 & 9 (The Final Cutdown)

Tarragona: World Heritage Saga is designed by Josep Borrut.

Originally Levels are inspired in Tarragona. This Catalonian city was elected by UNESCO as "World Heritage" in the year 2000.

The level is for free distribution.

This level is related with the previous episodes of the “Tarragona: World Heritage (TWH)”. For this reason and to avoid problems, it is strongly recommended to use the "Script.dat" and "English.dat" provided in the Zip file.

It you do not have the previous levels, you can find them in my Web page (www.tinet.org/~jborrut). There you can find to the Walkthrough for the level.

Warning: If you want to run all the previous levels use "Script0109.dat" and rename it as "Script.dat". If not, use "Script.dat"

Please, follow the next instructions to install successfully this/these levels:

0. Optional.

0.1 Install levels 1-2. The initial "Fly-by" is defined in those TR4 files. Follow their own "Readme.txt" instructions.

   0.2 Install level 3 to 7.

1. Backup the files that will be replaced:

   1.1 English.dat  (located in c:\Program Files\Core Design\Trle)

   1.2 Script.dat   (located in c:\Program Files\Core Design\Trle)

2. Unzip the file:

Extract the twh0809.zip to the TRLE folder. Files will be copied in Audio, Graphics\Wad and Sound\Samples.

3. Transform TOM file to TR4.

With the "PC level converter" transform "Beta.tom" "and Gama.tom" to ".tr4" format.

4. Some comments about the level:

There are several Volumetric Effects in the TWH9 level. It is recommended to activate the Volumetric FX with the Tomb Raider Setup utility.

There is a Level/Script compatibility problems. I have discovered that modifying some Animations (like weapons animations) can result in incompability to jumping to a level created with a non modified wad. In the TWH case it means that jump from level TWH7 to TWH8 is not longer working. I have not find how Core Design fixed this issue and I have choose to keep the modified wads due to the hours that I have expend changing the weapons and switch animations (1 hard week).

I have developed the level using the default color settings of my    graphic card (Desktop, Direct3D and Glide/OpenGL settings R:1.30 G:1.30    B:1.30), and less some rooms that are intentioned dark, I am able to see    fine rooms. If you see too dark, may be you need to adjust the brightness, contrast or graphic card defaults.

If you use the "fly cheat" you can create impossible/unexpected situations, like reach some where before time, this can result in impossible situations. I have work in some of them but ... Good look!

If you have any comment or you find a bug, you cam mail me to "jborrut@tinet.org"

You can also visit my Web page (www.tinet.org/~jborrut), where you can find my other levels, its Walkthroughs, and may be other things.

Recognitions

Most of the objects and textures that you will find in the level are created by me from scratch or original TR objects rebuild by me. There are a few exceptions:

I have used a few custom Textures from Fip and Tijay

   Objects

Let me thanks Tomo from his Laser, Velociraptor and Pterodactyl. The Laser is modified by my but the original moving blade was kindly provided to me by Tomo.

Thanks also to Justin. I have taken his Grenade Gun as base to my Grenade Gun and Shot Gun. The animations for those weapons are modified for me.

Let me thanks to the creators of the Custom Tools that I have used to develop those two levels:

   - Michael L. Jelarcic (TRWest v2.0).

   - "Turbo Pascal" (StrPix).

   - John Dodis (TBuilder v1.3.2)

   - "TRWad" (WadMerger v1.8 and AI Editor)
