Review:

Let's start at the end, with the Ceremony level, it offers some nasty timed runs, dashes through spikes and other obstacles, no time to rest, quite difficult, absolutely enjoyed it. A bunch of wraiths chasing through rope swingings and slicers, what an experience. As a standalone level it would recieved almost perfect score from me, only the fixed cameras disturbed gameplay at some places. Fantastic choice of music for it. One of the best levels ever, definitely one of the hardest. One tip; upon reaching the final room, switch to manual targeting, you will be able to blast the demigods from the safety of the corridor.
The other four levels are completely different, or rather three, because the first Lara's Home level is just a warm-up. I nowhere near liked the complex as much as in the first installment of Recon Labs with its warm colors. This time it wasn't as atmospheric, too repetitive textures, Lara's hideous outfit, underwater levers that remain unused, if the author changed his mind about gameplay during the making of the level, those levers should have been removed, as it is, they raised expectation, like: what a fun will be flooding the whole place, and when it didn't happen, the player left disappointed. Gameplay was tedious sometimes, pushing endless buttons, didn't make sense, the dark maze was overdone too. The Blaser gun was great, also the retextured, and later untextured scorpions. Just a few, but nicely done secrets, counted five. But no sign of any bonus level. Nice moving wall sequences. All in all, the ups outweigh the downs, making it a rather good set of levels, especially by Ceremony.

1. Home Attack:

Secret 1:

Pop in every room and collect everything. From the room behind the fireplace, through a pool room you reach a bathroom, there is a small medi on the sink. Go downstairs, there are small medis in the kitchen and in the freezer.

Now head for outside and get 7 medipacks from the maze. Pulling the lever opens a timed door so be quick! The other door behind it opens as you approach it, that garden is accessible from outside too, you find yet another small medi on the balcony. In the room with barrels climb the ladder for the 1st secret, a large medipack.

Get into the gym and follow the figures. After getting through the ropes save your game as you won't be able to do this in the next room due to the disappearance of the rope. Climb up and swing over that rope too, then some soldiers attack Lara. Each of them drop some goody. There are some badguys on the storey too. After taking care of them head outside for the large gate and the level finishes.

2. Entering Recon Labs 1:

Shoot the guards, there is one on the roof too, and pick up the large medi and flare they drop. Enter the cave and jump over the lava pits. After some more jumps, you find flares in a crawling space, then a switch, swing over the rope in the opened tunnel, jump through some slopes, shoot the guard and get his Silver Key. Pick up the flares too, then return to your starting point and use the Key. Shoot the guards, one had a small medi, get down with the elevator..

3. Entering Recon Labs 2

Kill the scorpion and go through the second door at the left. Pick up the flare, and two energy packs, one by pulling away the grate. Pull out the other grate in the middle and push it under the electric ray. Enter the opened door, climb up, some somersaults and other jumps (using the arrows keys to move Lara sideways midair) will be your next task. Pick up the energy pack, get through the moving walls. Shoot the guard in the next room, pick up his energy pack, and the other one from under the grate, the small medi too. Push the button, kill the scorpion, and get back through all that jumps to the electric room, and collect the Yellow Fuse behind the door.

Back to the corridor, collect the Recon's Pump Action Blaser and ammo behind the final door to the right. You can destroy the scorpions simply with pistols. Use your new object at the near door with labelling Danger. The lever inside opens  two timed doors, pull it and sprint fast back to the lift, go in the first door for the 2nd secret. Get two ammos, and Password part1, climb up, the lever opens another door out in the corridor. Go in there, and down, if you pull that lever, a scorpion attacks and the entrance closes, you have to pull it back up to reopen it. The two doors here open when you step before them, you can find ammo and small medi behind both, and a lever at the left. It stops one of the moving obstacles, making the next timed run a bit easier, just don't stop it in front of the door. Go back to the timed lever and pull it again, this time go through the moving obstacles, and the door behind you.

Once through, push the button in the turn of the corridor and go through the door, jump up into the corner for a small medi, go down the ramp, take care of the scorpion. Pick up the energy pack, and go through the second door, there is another energy pack at the turn, and a scorpion attacks. The easiest way to dispose it, is to lure back outside, and jump up where you have found the small medi, but watch out, another appeared there. From the corridor go into the control room at the left, pick up two energy packs and push the button which opens the door in the first junction from the ramp, and the left. Go there, get the ammo, and pull/push the block, go back the previous corridor and through the opened door. Push the button and quickly get back the view, because a scorpion appeared not only from behind the shown door, but behind Lara too. When got rid of them go throught that door, pick up the small medi, push one block onto the marked tile to reopen the entrance door, and push the button to turn off the floor lasers in the previously visited room. Go back down there and pull away the blocks, there are pickups under them. Climb up the ladder/chain, get the flare, small medi and jump up onto the lowest pillar. You can jump into the corner for some ammo, and up onto the next pillar, grab the monkey bars, and head for the button in the other corner.

Go to the room where the mutant is suspended in electricity, kill the scorpion and pick up the small medi, get the Blue Fuse and ammo behind the door labelled Caution. Get rid of the attacking scorpion and enter the door labelled Danger, crawl under the pipes, jump into the pool, get the ammo and small medi, and pull the underwater lever. Swim through the new door and pull another lever which deactivates the laser floor. Get the ammo from under the block, and return to the beginning of the level, go in the first junction from the ramp, and to the right. The button opens the door leading back to the first corridor.

Use the Blue Fuse. Going to the right kill the scorpion, push the button and get the Restricted Area Access Disk, and some ammo. Monkey swing over the lasers for the button which opens the doors leading back. Go back where you turned right, at the end there is the door to the starting corridor, push the button to open it. Use the elevator again and the level finishes.

 4. Deep Darkness:

Pick up two energy packs, pull out the block, and get the flares, large medi and the Map of the level. Use your Disk and explore the darkness inside. Gratings separate the tunnels at many places, therefore, apart from a few dead ends, usually contain some goodies, the way is pretty straightforward. There will be the familiar enemies there but they are invisible now, although you can see their shadows. It would be quite confusing to mention all enemies and pick ups, you can easily navigate by the map, basically go and look everywhere.

Keep to the right, and climb up into the crawling space marked with gray at the end of the dead-end. Find the Password part2 in the 3rd secret. Find the purple button in the upper left corner, and get through the purple door. Via the blue flashing passage you arrive into the lower part of the maze. There is another purple button in the upper right quadrant, push it, then return all the way around, to the door leading into the orange room, in the previous part of the maze. Move the block onto the marked tile to stop the wall, and collect the Elevator Access Card. If it stops at the wrong place, restart it, by stepping on the other marked tile in front of the entrance. Return to the elevator and using your Card this nasty level finishes.

 5. Hard Core

Savegames:

Pick up the small medi, climb up the ladder, shoot the flying creature, get the ammo on the top of a box. Step back to the corridor leading here to trigger the door of the secret again, run back in again, and to the right, jump over the boxes, and run in the door, use the lever twice to reopen it. At the end of the tunnel you find medis, lots of ammo, the Password part3 and the Shotgun in the 4th secret. Go back out, and enter through the door that opens, in the opposite corner, get up to the storey, behind the door you can find another Recon's Pump Action Blaser and a small medi. Pull the lever at the end of the corridor, enter the opened door below. After killing the scorpions get the small medpacks on both sides, and pull the lever behind the block at the left, and using the monkey-swing bars on the ceiling get through to the other side. Pull the lever to the left, back into the upper control room and enter the door which is now open.

Pull both levers on the corridor, and the one inside, then return to the corridor and pull the left lever back again so Lara can get the Blue Fuse inside. Go through the door on the corridor leading to the already used lever, and use it in the lock. Shoot the guards and enter the room on the right, use your card in both readers and return to the previous room, shoot the scorpion and go in the door in front. Swing over the ropes get the ammo and pull the lever, a harpie attacks, he drops another energy pack. Return through the ropes, notice that the third door is now open, but you have to come back here later.

Return into the very first room, use the elevator to get above and push all buttons in the countless rooms. Your main objective is to push the 4 buttons labelled PushMe in the 4 LabsCtrl rooms. The first doors at the right and left open before you, inside you find flares and buttons, which open doors on the other side of the corridor. Behind those another buttons open yet another doors on the other side of the corridor. Those lead to the inner corridor, and the buttons open the door in the middle. To the right from it you can open a trapdoor where the ceiling is cracked, leading to the 5th secret, ammo and small medipack. In the right end of this inner corridor the door opens before you, a scorpion and two energy packs are in there. Go through the middle door, pick up the energy pack before the shelves at the left. Out of the nine buttons, first push the three on the left wall, and the three on the right. They open four doors in the inner corridor, two lead to ammo, two to the first two PushMe buttons. Another door opened in the outer corridor too, there is the third PushMe button. Go back to the middle room, and push the middle button on the middle wall, to open the door for the final PushMe button in the outer corridor, the last two doors in the inner corridor opened too, behind those you can find large medis.

Go up the stairs, the third door here now open, push the button inside. Head out, and to the first door, labelled Danger. Run through the 'squeezers', slide down, get the large medi, pull the lever and climb the ladder. Push the grate on the pedestal in the middle to both marked tiles to open the doors, scorpions coming out, and pull the levers behind them to open the middle door. Getting through another set of 'squeezers' finally you can pick up the Reaction Detonator. Get up with a rather slow elevator, shoot the SAS and return into the room behind the third door to use the Detonator on the console on the wall. The water in the pools is now clean, get two packs of ammo from them, and go through the opened door in the corner.

Jump into the water and pull the underwater lever to stop the propeller but no blades must be downwards, if that happens, just pull the lever again twice. Swim under it, stop the other one too, get back for some air when necessary. Swim to the end of the tunnel and collect the Restricted Area Access Disk from the grate. Get out the water, back to the corridor and get down using the elevators.

You are at the bottom of the ramp in Entering Recon Labs level, just go to the other elevator, get to Deep Darkness, and back to Hard-Core again.

Get back entirely to the door you have opened with the lever after the 6 ropes, and use your Disk. Fight the scorpion and harpies, jump into the room with laser floor for some ammo, then another scorpion appears. Step through the portal to finish the level. Let's visit Egypt!

6. Ceremony

Savegames:

While the level is loading hit the up arrow, to run forward immediately. The whole level is a nightmare, full of timed runs. Get the Shotgun, ammo, small medi, then before pulling the lever jump to the other side to collect two more small medis. Jump back, then pull the lever, hurry and jump through the swinging chains to the open door.

Pull the lever inside and rush along. Many times the sprint helps you. Pick up and use The Hand of Orion. After a single jump run along. If you want the medipack you loose some health, decide if it's worth it for you. Standing on the edge jump onto the sloping platform, jump backwards and you're up, hop back and runjump for the ladder. You can't rest above, again decide if the small medipacks worth the injury, slide down backwards and grab the ledge for not to land in lava, then jump around. After one of the slopes there's no lava pit but another slope with chains, and a scorpion at its end. Kill it and take the small medi, safety drop down.

Get rid of the scorpion, pick up the Grenade Gun and pull both three levers, go through the door. Crawl under the spikes, and after the circling blades climb up the ladder. Run along the corridor while spikes popping up at your heels, roll through the slicer, down the slope while a boulder chaseing, jump for the rope. Swing over, climb up, run and slide/jump down through another set of spikes, quickly get the small medi on the right before the boulder comes down, then the grenades too, and jump onto the wall switch, go through the door. Watch out for the dart splitter, climb up the ladder, dispose the scorpion, collect two small medis, pull the lever and hurry for the timed door.

After the dark tunnel, slides, jumps and ladders awaiting, till you make it to the corridor with a slicer. Run over the blade bridge, get through another slicer, hang down into the lava room to trigger the scorpions, so you can take care of them from above, let's not forget that with grenades we can aim anywhere because they bounce. Then drop down, push all three buttons behind the slopes to open the door. Dash again through spikes, slicers, slope and chains, to finally reach your main objective.

Equip the Blaser gun with multi-destruction ammo, and switch to manual targeting, that way you can kill the four demigods, from the safety of the corridor. Since Seth only shooting when in level with Lara, he won't be much of a problem. Starting to the left jump around the room, pick up the large medi on the way, and up, through the semi-transparent platforms jump for the lever, pull it, and jump to the farer platform for a small medi, then enter the opened door. Follow the passage through a few traps till you reach a ground lever, push it, then jump back before the boulder smashes you. Go through the door and jump over the platforms, up to the next storey, when getting through the slicer a wraith appaers, you can't get rid of it, from now on it will chase you all the way, there is a scorpion in this corridor too. At the end jump to the rope, swing over the opening in front, and reach up the uppermost top of the room, stepping on the marked tiles on each side the grates open on the lower level, a few more wraiths join the follower group. You can find some medipacks up here too. At this point I had to give a medi to Lara, and later another three, so finished the adventure using four large ones. Get back down and enter both the grates, pull the levers, hop back and jump up, to pick up the two The Hands of Orion. Return to the upper storey and place them in their receptacles. Enter the open grate, slide down, jump and finally this horrible level finishes.../1/image/Final8.jpg
